Cala de San Pedro anchorage, NE of Cabo de Gata, SE Spain,

36°54.10N 001°58.72W (May 2011)

6-7 m sand with weedy patches. Clear water, could see the bottom.

Open to E-SW but probably okay with SW-winds if not too strong. Usually subject to some swell, but nightwind off the high mountains might help to keep your stern to the swell.

No swimming buoys or fishing buoys. Hippie settlement ashore. No roads, so no traffic, hotels, apartments. No wifi either, but we did see a television ashore and someone using a mobile telephone (21st century hippies). Dongle worked fine. Very dark ashore at night. Nice walking in the nature reserve.

A delightful spot. (Don't tell anyone.)
