Cádiz, Puerto América, SW Spain, 36º32.44N 6º17.03W (August 2011)

Entrance into the bay and into the outer harbour can be done in any weather, but into the marina a bit tricky in strong winds because there is not much any manoeuvring space. The reception pontoon is right inside the marina, turn left after the fuel pontoon, not nice for a long keeled boat in a bit of wind. At siesta time there was no reply on VHF Ch9. The office is in a low building a bit to the left when coming off the reception pontoon.

Moorings alongside floating fingerpontoons.

The marina doesn't provide wifi, but we picked up two open signals.

There is a washing machine, with cold water only. Don't know the price.

For shopping it's a rather boring long walk into town. Next to the fresh food market, which itself is very good, is a Carrefour supermarket.

Inside the marina area is a chandler. There doesn't seem to be any shipyard/travellift.

The marina is safe enough for overwintering, if you can get a berth a bit away from the entrance. Cádiz town would be lovely and lively enough for a whole winter, but the walk into town would get a bit tedious and there were no signs of liveaboards. Security quite okay, being a long way from town, but the pontoon doors were not locked.

Prices like in other Eppa-harbours.

For anchorage see Cádiz Bay.
